Andrew J. White

Lt. Andrew White was a 12-year veteran of the fire service. He started his career in the fire service at the age of 14 when he was inducted into the Rocky Grove Volunteer Fire Department as a junior firefighter. At the age of 16‚ he became an active firefighter and regular member of the Department.

Following in his family’s footsteps‚ Andy participated in training and progressed through the department. He later became an Emergency Medical Technician and served as Lieutenant of Rocky Grove’s Station #2 from 1999-2001. Being part of a fire department family‚ Andy participated in many department activities including working in the booths at the annual fireman’s fair‚ and assisting each year with Fire Prevention Week activities in the community.

Lt. White graduated from Rocky Grove Junior/Senior High School in 1992. While in high school‚ Andy served on the high school’s Fire/Safety Patrol‚ and in his senior year served as Chief of the Patrol. The Patrol’s mission was the protection of faculty and students should an emergency occur during school hours.

After graduating Lt. White became a construction worker by trade. Andy also enjoyed camping‚ collecting baseball hats‚ and Harley Davison Memorabilia.

Andrew is deeply missed by his wife‚ family‚ close friends and fire department.

He lives to honor your sacrifice and is NEVER without thoughts of you and your family. I truly hope you are resting in peace in Heaven above watching over Station 21.

  5. Today was the memorial service for fallen fire fighters….Quite different because of Covid-19, nothing in person at the Academy. We watched with Richard at his house now. I’m sure you and your sister watched together from up above. Miss and love you both so much. Keep an eye on your sister since she is with you now [June 10,2020] 19 years after you died.
