Jackie Eli Ellington‚ Jr. was born May 15‚ 1982‚ in Oklahoma City‚ Oklahoma to Jackie and Ginger (Morgan) Ellington. He passed away April 1‚ 2002 at age 19.

Jackie was a 2001 graduate of Blanchard High School‚ where he graduated with a 4.0 GPA. Jackie served as a mentor for elementary children in his Junior and Senior years which he enjoyed very much.

Jackie knew what he wanted to do and went after it. Before graduating high school‚ Jackie had completed Firefighter One and was enrolled in EMT school.

Jackie was a member of the Newcastle Fire Department‚ Newcastle‚ Oklahoma. Jackie was certified in Firefighter One‚ Introduction to Technical Rescue‚ Hazmat Operations and EMT-basic. He was pursuing his Municipal Fire Service degree at Oklahoma State University at the time of his death. Firefighting was in his blood. Jackie’s father‚ three uncles‚ and two cousins are also firefighters. Firefighting was his life.

Jackie also enjoyed wrestling‚ baseball‚ football‚ weight lifting‚ water sports‚ and had a tremendous love for children. Jackie worked at Normal Regional Hospital and they always talked about how they always knew where to find Jackie – he would be in the nursery or in pediatrics playing with the sick children. He just wanted them to smile! Jackie enjoyed being with his friends and family (biological and fire). Jackie always wanted to be just like his Dad‚ and he was. Jackie was kind hearted‚ caring‚ loving and always had a kiss for Mom no matter where he was.

He is survived by his parents‚ Jackie and Ginger Ellington; his brother Joshua Ellington‚ and his sister Morgan Ellington‚ his grandparents Iva Dee Curtis & JB Curtis‚ and George Morgan‚ and numerous other friends and relatives.

He will be greatly missed by all. We love you Jackie baby!
