Robert S. Nichols Jr.

Robert ‘Bobby’ S. Nichols‚ Jr. was 39 years old and employed as an assistant meat market manager at warehouse discount grocery (a local grocery store) in Hanceville‚ Alabama. He was a member of the Loretto volunteer fire department in Cullman‚ Alabama.

While doing traffic patrol on February 13‚ 2002‚ while other firefighters were working on a water main bust‚ he had a heart attack. He had a previous heart attack about 5 years prior. He went through double bypass surgery. He didn’t feel this one coming.

He was member of the fire department for about a year and a half. He loved the fire department. He went to every emergency & training they had‚ if he wasn’t working.

He was also an active member of Ole Time Way Baptist church in Cullman‚ Alabama. He was a trustee for the church.

He was survived by his spouse‚ Patti Nichols Pope; his daughter‚ Heather Nichols; his dad & stepmom‚ Robert & Kathy Nichols; 2 sisters‚ Carolyn freeman & Janet Willingham; a brother‚ Tim Nation (who passed away in 2003); and a grandmother‚ Ora Morrison.
