Memorial Climb Events Honor and Remember 9/11 Bravest
Colorado, Tennessee, and Florida Events Sponsored by the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation

Stair Climbs were held in Nashville, Tennessee; Inverness, Florida; and two in Denver, Colorado. Firefighters in three of these venues climbed 110 stories, the equivalent of one of the WTC towers, and each climber represented a firefighter who died in the line of duty on 9/11. In the Colorado 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb, firefighters, survivors and the members of the public came together to honor and remember by climbing stairs at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre.

A fifth climb paid tribute to our fallen 9/11 heroes in "a uniquely Colorado way," with firefighters climbing the 14,265 foot Quandary Peak in Breckenridge, Colorado.

Even though the venues and participants were different, the message was clear - "We will never forget." The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation commends these firefighters who serve their communities every day, and have also developed ways to ensure that the sacrifices made by the fallen firefighters are not forgotten.

"It is always great to see how the fire service honors the men and women who make the supreme sacrifice," said Chief Ron Siarnicki, Executive Director of the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. "The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation is proud to be a part of this tribute."

In addition to honoring the memories of the FDNY firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice on 9/11, proceeds from the registration fees for these events benefit the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization created by Congress in 1992 to lead a nationwide effort to honor America's fallen firefighters and assist their survivors in rebuilding their lives.
