ONE-TIME DEATH BENEFIT

Firefighters who are full-time (at least 30 hours/week) or part-time (at least 20 hours/week) employees of Pinellas County. Eligibility begins the 1st of the next month following 31 days of consecutive employment.

Life Insurance
Policy benefit in the amount of 1x annual salary, subject to a maximum of $250,000 rounded to the next higher $1,000 if not already a multiple of $1,000. Benefit minimum is $10,000. Additional benefits may apply if employee participated in voluntary supplemental insurance program.

Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance
Policy benefit in the amount of 1x annual salary, subject to a maximum of $250,000 rounded to the next higher $1,000 if not already a multiple of $1,000. Benefit minimum is $10,000. Additional benefits may apply if employee participated in voluntary supplemental insurance program.

Seat Belt Benefit
Payable if death is the result of an accident that qualifies for the Accidental Death and Dismemberment Benefit. An additional benefit of $1,000 to $10,000 will be paid.

Air Bag Benefit
Payable if death is the result of an accident that qualifies for the Accidental Death and Dismemberment Benefit. An additional benefit of up to $5,000 will be paid.

Repatriation Benefit
If the Loss of Life is covered under the Accidental Death and Dismemberment Benefit and occurs outside the territorial limits of the state of country of permanent residence, an additional repatriation benefit will provide up to $5,000 in coverage to prepare the body for burial or cremation and to transport the body to the place of burial or cremation.

Covers Citrus, Hernando, Hillsborough, Pasco, Polk, Marion and Pinellas Counties. Provides immediate cash assistance of $5,000 to families. Provides tuition, room and board, and books for dependent children and spouse enrolled in a program leading toward an undergraduate degree.
