The Henderson County Government provides funding for a $25,000 life insurance policy via VFIS Insurance Company. The benefit is payable immediately to the spouse or designated beneficiary upon the death of a qualifying member.

Coverage is provided for members of fire departments in all unincorporated areas of the county. The incorporated towns of Lexington and Scotts Hill are responsible for the fire departments in their respective towns.
