How to Say Thank You to the Public Safety Community During COVID-19

NFFF Connect

We know that many of you are busy doing work that has been deemed essential—keeping the rest of us safe, well, fed, and maintaining important infrastructure. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts! We think of you, worry for you and pray for you. We hold you in our hearts each day.

For those of us working at home and sheltering in place for the greater good, it can be a helpless feeling to want to do more, but maybe not know exactly how to help. It feels good to take action to help others. Never fear! We will be here with ideas and suggestions for how to help while staying safe, and we want to hear from you, too. If you hear of a great opportunity to help, please let us know!

We are putting together materials to thank our public safety community for the work they are doing during this pandemic and to remind people how they can keep themselves and the public safety community safe right now. We need your help to say thank you! If you are willing to record a video clip “thank you shout out” using your cell phone or computer, please email those videos to dstatter@firehero.org.

A few video tips:

  • be natural
  • use the phone in horizontal or landscape mode
  • don’t stand or sit against the background
  • make sure there is no background noise
  • make sure that your audio is clear and crisp

The Fire Hero Family Programs team is here for you. While we are adapting to these new circumstances, we are researching ways to bring resources, workshops, and meetings to you virtually. In the coming weeks, we will provide resources and information to help you stay connected.
