Reflection and Respect Nationwide

National Stair Climb unites climbers in remembering our 9/11 heroes

Join Climbers Nationwide - National Stair ClimbStarting on September 11, 2020 through the end of the year, join climbers nationwide in honoring our 9/11 heroes.  In 2020, virtual climbers will bring this national remembrance to their communities, personalizing their journey to “Never Forget.” Our climbers may be honoring a friend, remembering a relative, or showing respect to those who made the ultimate sacrifice in 2001. Each participant will climb or walk the equivalent of 110 stories to symbolize the number of floors in the World Trade Center. For as little as $20, you can help us honor their memory and support their families.

Here are the ways that you can show your support:

  • $30.00 – Climber
  • $30.00 – 9.11K Runner/Walker
  • $20.00 – Climb Supporter

Each virtual climber will receive a toolkit to personalize their climb. This National Stair Climb virtual climber toolkit includes:

  • Opening Ceremony Video– Many who have climbed with us before know that our live events include an opening ceremony to thank everyone and get everyone ready for the climb. Our Virtual Stair Climb Toolkit includes one too. Watch online before you climb to remember.
  • 343 Roll Call– You will receive a link to watch before/after your climb including all the firefighters we honor at each climb.
  • Printable Honor Badges– Download our honor badge collection, choose the hero or heroes that you will climb in honor of, and print their badge(s) to carry with you during your climb.
  • Virtual Bell– Once you have completed your climb, ring the “Virtual Bell,” by playing the 5-5-5 bell video to remember your firefighter. We encourage you to post a photo or video of yourself completing your journey using the hashtags #911stairclimb #neverforget #NFFFstairclimbs.
  • Invitation to a Special Stair Climber Facebook Group– Interact with other climbers across the country, share how you are honoring firefighters with your climb, and get ideas from other climbers too!
  • Virtual Climber T-Shirt– You will receive a special shirt made especially for our 2020 virtual climbers. Your shirt will arrive after December 31, 2020.

“The National Stair Climb is an opportunity for anyone to demonstrate respect and remember the courageous men and women who gave their lives trying to save others. It’s also a way to show their loved ones that we will never forget them,” said National Fallen Firefighters Foundation Executive Director Ron Siarnicki.

The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation’s stair climbs benefit the FDNY Counseling Services Unit and the programs provided by the NFFF to support the families of our nation’s fallen firefighters.
