John Zidar is responsible for Motorola’s North America Government business in the Central United States and Canada. John is responsible for providing Mission Critical solutions to the State, Local, Tribal Governments in the US as well the Canadian Federal, Provincial, Municipal Governments as well business critical solutions to commercial markets including the following field operations: Manufacturer Representatives, Systems Engineering, Systems Integration, Project Management and Support Services.
John has been with Motorola for 21 years, working primarily within the Government Market space, serving in his current position since March 2014. John has held several positions within Motorola including Territory Vice President and Area Sales Manager, Central Region; Sales Team Leader, Northern Division; North America Inside Sales Manager, North America Group; Systems Solutions Representative, North America Group.
John is an industry expert in the field of wireless communication solutions having received recognition on the Motorola team that captured the Malcolm Baldridge Award for Excellence in 2002 with a concentration on Customer & Market Focus.
John was also a member of the Motorola Emergency response team activated during the 9/11 attacks and numerous Florida/Gulf Coast Hurricanes.
John is a participant in many Government and Public Safety organizations such as the Major City Chiefs (MCC), National Association of State CIO’s (NASCIO), the Association of Public Safety Communication Officers (APCO), and the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP). John is a member of the Great Lakes Hazards Coalition, Vice Chairman of the Board at the Detroit Public Safety Foundation, and recently joined the Board at the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation.
John holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Marquette University, a Masters of Business Administration from DePaul University, and a Masters Certificate in Project Management from George Washington University. John resides in Bloomfield Township, MI (Metro Detroit) with his wife Meghan and four children.
