Join us as we pause to honor 226 fallen firefighters during the 43rd National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend on May 4 and 5. This solemn occasion commemorates the lives of 89 firefighters who died in 2023, as well as 137 who died in previous years.
NFFF Welcomes New Leadership for Advocates Program
The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation’s Advocates/Fellows program, formerly known as the “EGH Advocates Program,” has evolved to include a new name and new leadership. This important component of NFFF’s Fire Programs is now known as the “Fire Programs Outreach and Education Program” to better reflect the group’s mission.

Memorial Monday — Remembering Herman N. Lewis
Firefighter Herman N. Lewis, age 56, of the Indianapolis Fire Department died of a heart attack shortly after arriving to a 2-alarm fire on March 22, 1944.

On Wednesday, March 6th, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 3821, the Firefighter Cancer Registry Reauthorization Act, by a vote of 413-7.
