Organ Donor Autopsy Concerns
Autopsies are not required to file for, or receive PSOB benefits. If an autopsy is performed, a copy of the autopsy is generally requested to establish the cause of death. However, if an autopsy is not performed, the PSOB Office simply requests that the department provide a statement that an autopsy was not performed.

Annual Survivor Holiday Tree Lighting
Since 2003, the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation has invited survivors to make personal ornaments in honor of their firefighters to hang on the trees in the chapel. Each year, relatives and coworkers attend the annual tree lighting for an evening of comfort and friendship.
