The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF) is recognizing Chief Karl Ristow, CFO, as the newest recipient of the organization’s Arthur J. Glatfelter Distinguished Service Award.
NVFC and VCOS Selected as Recipients of the Senator Paul S. Sarbanes Fire Service Safety Leadership Award

The National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) and the Volunteer & Combination Officers Section (VCOS) of the International Association of Fire Chiefs have been selected as the 2022 recipients of the Senator Paul S. Sarbanes Fire Service Safety Leadership Award. NVFC and VCOS are being recognized for their publication of the Lavender Ribbon Report.

CFSI and the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation recognize the recipients of the Senator Paul S. Sarbanes Fire Service Safety Leadership Award. The Sarbanes award recognizes fire departments and organizations for embracing the 16 Firefighter Life Safety Initiatives. The recipients are the Clayton (DE) Fire Company, Prince George’s County (MD) Fire & Emergency Medical Services, and Sioux Falls (SD) Fire Rescue.
Three Fire Departments Selected as Recipients of the Senator Paul S. Sarbanes Fire Service Safety Leadership Award
Sioux Falls Fire Rescue, the Clayton Fire Company, and the Prince George’s County (MD) Fire/EMS Department will receive the 2020 Senator Paul S. Sarbanes Fire Service Safety Leadership Award. The award presentations will take place at the 32nd Annual National Fire and Emergency Services Dinner on April 30, 2020.

Co-sponsored by CFSI and the NFFF, the Senator Paul S. Sarbanes Fire Service Safety Leadership Award recognizes public safety organizations for outstanding contributions to the advancement of firefighter health and safety. The deadline for submissions is December 6, 2019.

Two NFFF Long-Serving Board Members Receive Accolades at Firehouse Expo

During the opening ceremonies of Firehouse Expo in Nashville, Vina Drennan’s tireless commitment to the fire service was recognized warmly as she received the Art Glatfelter Distinguished Service Award. Chief Compton was inducted into the 2018 Firehouse Hall of Fame, which honors contributors who have made a lasting mark on the fire service.

The Congressional Fire Services Institute (CFSI) and National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF) selected the International Society of Fire Service Instructors (ISFSI) and the UL Firefighter Safety Research Institute (FSRI) as the co-recipients of the Senate Paul S. Sarbanes Fire Service Safety Leadership Award.
