Attention Campers! Both 2017 Hal Bruno Camps for Children of Fallen Firefighters Will Be Held July 21 -23, 2017

In 2017, the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation will partner again with Comfort Zone Camp to provide a weekend bereavement camp for children of fallen firefighters who have been honored in Emmitsburg. For the first time, the Foundation will hold both the 4-6 age camp and the 7-17 age camp together in Colorado.

We hope that you and your children will join us. If you have any questions or need further information, please contact Eric Nagle at [email protected] or (301) 447-1431.

Camp Registration

Camp will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis until spaces are full or until the registration deadline.

Parent Component

On Saturday, there will be a morning session and an evening program for all parents. The morning session will focus on how grief affects the family, developmental issues related to grief, and parenting strategies to help support children. The evening session will focus on caring for yourself and will provide an opportunity for adults to connect with one another while the young campers enjoy a separate activity supervised by staff and volunteers. On Sunday morning, there will be relaxation and self-care sessions for parents before you reunite with your children.

Book flights to arrive at Denver International Airport before 1 p.m. on Friday, July 21 and to depart after 7 p.m. on Sunday, July 23. On Friday, we will provide transportation from the airport to the hotel and to Glacier View Ranch. On Sunday evening and Monday, we will provide return transportation to Denver International Airport. If you travel outside the designated times, you are responsible for making your own arrangements.

Please forward your flight itinerary to Eric Nagle at [email protected] before June 20, 2017.
