The 2017 Parents and Siblings Weekend Retreat will focus on the unique issues that come with grieving the death of an adult child or sibling, how the death impacts family relationships and traditions, and the positive effects of self-care after loss.
The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation’s Parents and Siblings Retreat is open to parents and siblings of fallen firefighters honored at the National Memorial in Emmitsburg, Maryland.
We have a great program planned for parents and siblings of fallen firefighters from across the country to engage in activities that will strengthen your abilities to heal.
The 2017 Parents and Siblings Weekend Retreat will begin with a welcome reception on Thursday, November 2. Friday and Saturday will include engaging workshops and open discussions; there will be time for self-care and plenty of opportunities to make lasting friendships with others who understand.
Getting to the Retreat
We have reserved a block of rooms at the DoubleTree Baltimore-BWI Airport. You should plan to arrive by 5 pm on Thursday, November 2, and depart on Sunday, November 5. Please share your travel arrangements with us and we will book your room.
The 2017 Parents and Siblings Weekend Retreat will be held at the BWI Airport DoubleTree by Hilton, which offers complimentary airport shuttle service and free parking for guests.
The NFFF will pay for your lodging and reimburse your travel expenses up to $300 (airfare or mileage). Meals will be provided beginning with Thursday’s welcome dinner and ending with dinner on Saturday.
Space is limited and will be honored on a first-come, first-served basis or until October 13, 2017.
