The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation cordially invites you to attend a retreat designed especially for you! The 2020 Spouses and Life Partners Retreat will be held March 19 – 22, 2020 in San Antonio, Texas.
Open to spouses and life partners of fallen firefighter honored at the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial in Emmitsburg, Maryland, this retreat will focus on active steps you can take to assess and improve your own well-being. Participate in peer-led groups and talk with other Fire Hero spouses and partners about experiences, struggles and progress. Learn from and support one another. This special event will help you learn techniques to better self-regulate, leading to optimal performance and health—physically, mentally, and emotionally. Explore your current situation, and develop personal goals for living a resilient life. The retreat will be filled with learning, sharing, physical activity, creative activities, and time with others who understand.
Hotel and Travel
The retreat will be held at the Embassy Suites – San Antonio Brooks, in San Antonio, Texas and will begin with a dinner reception on Thursday, March 19, starting at 6:00 pm. Friday and Saturday will include engaging workshops and open discussions where everyone will be encouraged to participate, share experiences and insights.
Your lodging and meals will be provided beginning with Thursday’s dinner and ending with breakfast on Sunday. The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation will reimburse your travel expenses up to $350 (airfare or mileage).
We have reserved a block of rooms at the Embassy Suites and will provide ground transportation to and from the San Antonio airport. You should plan to arrive before 6:00 pm on Thursday and depart after 1:00 pm on Sunday, March 22.
