Make a Difference in a Grieving Child’s Life
Comfort Zone Camp’s 3-day weekend camp in partnership with the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation
What is Comfort Zone?
Comfort Zone Camp (CZC) is a national nonprofit organization that provides a safe and fun place for youth ages 5-25 grieving the death of a significant person in their life. CZC offers one-day family programs, school/community programs, and 3-day weekend camps. Comfort Zone is honored to partner with the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation to host a weekend camp program for children and teens, ages 7-17, who have experienced the loss of a parent, sibling, or guardian.
Support a Grieving Child by Volunteering
During this six-hour program, you will meet Comfort Zone staff, campers, and volunteers who will explain what to expect at camp and how our program impacts grieving children and teens. You will receive education about childhood bereavement and we’ll give you tips on how to be successful in whichever volunteer role you are selected to fill.
Volunteer Roles Include:
- Big Buddy Mentor
- Grief Therapist
- General Camp Volunteer (logistics support) and more
All volunteers must complete our 6-hour training and pass a background check.
For any questions regarding this training please contact CZC Program Coordinator and Facilitator Janelle Tensley.
