Make a Difference in a Grieving Child’s Life

Comfort Zone Camp’s 3-day weekend camp in partnership with the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation

What is Comfort Zone?

Comfort Zone Camp (CZC) is a national nonprofit organization that provides a safe and fun place kids grieving the death of a parent, sibling, or significant person in their life. CZC offers FREE one day family programs and 3-day weekend camps. All programming empowers children to grieve, heal and grow in healthy ways. Comfort Zone is honored to partner with the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation to host a weekend camp program for children and teens, ages 7-17, who have experienced the loss of a parent, sibling, or guardian.

Support a Grieving Child by Volunteering

During this six-hour program, you will meet Comfort Zone staff, campers, and volunteers who will explain what to expect at camp and how our program impacts grieving children and teens. You will receive education about childhood bereavement and we’ll give you tips on how to be successful in whichever volunteer role you are selected to fill. Lunch will be provided.

Volunteer Roles Include:

  • Big Buddy Mentor
  • Nurse
  • Grief Therapist
  • Photographer
  • Logistics support

All volunteers must be 15 yrs or older,
complete a Volunteer Training, and pass a background check.

To register for volunteer training, please contact CZC Staff Member Mike Brown or call (804) 282-2192 ext.211.
