in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area
The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF) is proud to again partner with Outward Bound for young adults, who have lost a firefighter parent. This one week course is a unique Outward Bound adventure specifically designed for age 18-25 who are coping with the death of a loved one. You’ll be paddling along the famous Delaware River through the rugged and historic Delaware Water Gap. By combining personal growth methodologies of Outward Bound, with a simple support model that honors the griever, we deliver an intensely profound healing experience relevant to the lives of people who are coping with the death of a loved one. Throughout the course there are evening discussions to review personal and group challenges encountered during the day and in life. Topics include grieving, leadership, independent decision-making, responsibility, and teamwork.
The NFFF and Outward Bound have partnered to provide tuition for the program. In addition, the NFFF will reimburse your airfare up to $350 after completion of the course. Space is limited for this program; if you are interested and would like to attend, please contact Eric Nagle by email at [email protected] or 301-447-1431.
You are responsible for making your travel arrangements but should not do so until fully approved for this course. You will be met at the Philadelphia International Airport by Outward Bound staff that will transport you to base camp.
