Firefighter Aubrey Ervin “Jack” Miller, age 34, of the San Rafael Volunteer Fire Department died on May 21, 1950 in a roof collapse during a fire at Mar Vista Motors.

Jack joined the department in 1946 as one of its first paid members. He was a World War II veteran.

He is survived by his wife Bernadette and their four children John, Joanne, Dennis, and Barbara.
