Volunteer Fireman Bernard M. Seminski, 46, a member of Eagle Hose Co. No. 1 of Dickson City, PA suffered a fatal injury on July 2, 1954 while responding to a fire at The Frisbie Silk Throwing Co. Mill. Firefighter Seminski succumbed to his injuries on July 5, 1954. A well-known plumber, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Martin Seminski. At the time of his passing, he was survived by wife, Jean (Luchansky) Seminski and son, Robert.


This firefighter line of duty fatality occurred before the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial was built in Emmitsburg, Maryland. While this firefighter has not been officially honored at the Memorial site, there are plans to do so when resources are available.
