Charles J. Berry joined the Kingsport Fire Department in 1966. He was promoted to Engineer in 1970 and Captain in 1983. On January 5th, 1988, while responding to a structure fire, he and his crew were involved in a crash on an icy road. Captain Berry was critically injured and lost to us all.
