David is still remembered so fondly and so lovingly by so many friends and family. Even 20 years later I find myself in circumstances when someone will turn to another saying “hey, this David Ray’s brother” and invariably the response becomes a tale of how much David meant to them. David surely never knew, never tried, or never expected he would touch the number of lives he did. It all happened because he was just being himself, and loving people, loving life, and loving the job died doing. I love and miss my brother and he will never be forgotten.
– greg rayI am a 19 year old wildland firefighter and I am doing a case study on David. I am sorry for your loss and I wanted to let you know that 20 years later he is still positively impacting me, some random firefighter from Utah. Sounds like he was a great guy. My condolences.
