Fire Police Captain Edward S. Margavich Jr., age 81, of the Third District Volunteer Fire Company, died August 15, 2025, from complications of injuries sustained in a fall while operating at a vehicle fire that spread to a residence.
The National Emergency Training Center (NETC) campus will be closed during the government shutdown, including access to the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial.
