It’s hard to believe that you have been gone for 16yrs. Not a day goes by that I don’t miss you. I know your watching over me from up above, and I’m thankful for that. I will always love you & miss you daddy!!!

In 1958, Elvis and I were colleagues in the 3rd grade at Pollock Elementary, in Pollock, La. One day, Elvis brought his guitar to school and played and sang lyrics to I’ll Fly Away. It was so sweet. Many years later, it hit me how amazing it was that a 8 year old boy was confident enough to do that. I have been away from Pollock most of my life and was speaking with a cousin about people we knew and grew up with. This story came to mind. He must have turned out just fine. Fireman, entertainer at nursing homes and charity event. I’m sorry I never got to tell him how fondly I remember that day. Geneva Ann Hudson, daughter of Lloyd and Gayle Hudson
