Howard “Howie” J. Bischoff was born on June 12, 1956. He was appointed to the New York City Fire Department (FDNY) on December 12, 1983 and worked in Engine Company 204 before his promotion to rank of lieutenant on April 06, 1996. As a lieutenant, Howie worked in Battalion 42 and ended his career working out of Ladder Company 149.
Howie dedicated 19 years of service to the FDNY and died on September 22, 2014, from an illness related to his response to the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center.
He is survived by his wife, Sheri; son, Christian; daughter, Lindsey; and sister, Gloria.
