James W. Altic‚ 47‚ chief and a 15-year member of Halfway Fire and Rescue‚ died on January 17‚ 2000‚ in a traffic accident on the way to a fire scene. Altic was well known for helping others in the community.
The National Emergency Training Center (NETC) campus will be closed during the government shutdown, including access to the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial.
