Roll of Honor

Firefighter
Age: 34
Year of Death: 2001

John A. Schardt

John was a firefighter who loved his job.

He was the most loving husband any wife could ask for. He was the proud father of three beautiful boys. He loved watching sports and working with his hands. He was always willing to lend a hand to anyone who asked. He will always be loved and extremely missed by all who knew him.

He was also the best son any parents could ask for and a wonderful brother.

  1. I participated in the 9/11 Stair Climb at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, WI this past weekend (09/16/2017) and I was honored to have been given John’s name to climb for. I can only pray that I was able to honor him the the best of my capabilities. This was my first stair climb and will not be my last. My prayers go out for John and his loved ones.

  5. John, you were a smiling teenager when we first met you as our next door neighbor on Foster Road. The first minute I met you I liked you. You always had a quality of exuberance and you were always so ‘genuine’. A devoted son who grew up to be a great husband and dad. We pray for the repose of your soul and we miss you. Rest In Peace, we will never forget you! Love, Donna P

  7. Hey John, I climbed Melbourne Stair climb (28 floors) yesterday in your honor. I’m a Volunteer Firey.
During the climb, there was a time when I thought I can’t make it (I’m not the fittest). I looked at your picture and you inspired me, and I made it all the way to the top. Thank you!
    Rest in Peace.
