Joseph Kroboth‚ Jr.‚ 59‚ a volunteer firefighter with the Volunteer Fire Company of Halfway died on May 3‚ 1998 after being struck by a vehicle while directing traffic at the scene of a motor vehicle accident near Hagerstown. He was a 39 year veteran volunteer firefighter. His son is Chief of the Halfway Department.
