Lazaro was a giving‚ selfless man who believed that his mission in life was to serve his fellow man. He filled his calling and gave his very best‚ to help make our world a safer and better place. He leaves a legacy of unselfish sharing of his skills and energy. He was proud to be a volunteer firefighter for Fisher’s Peak Fire District-Trinidad‚ Colorado.

This prayer for generosity by St. Ignatius Loyola‚ describes Lazaro Martinez:

Lord‚ teach me to be generous and serve you as you deserve.
To give and not to count the cost‚
To fight and not heed the wounds‚
To labor and not seek for rest‚
To toil and not reward‚
Except that of knowing that I do your will.
