Lewis E. Anderson‚ 68‚ a volunteer member of the River Falls Fire Department‚ died on September 30‚ 1999‚ from injuries sustained three days earlier while directing traffic at the scene of an accident. A hit and run driver was charged in the death. Anderson‚ a volunteer for over two years‚ was his department’s ‘Fireman of the Year’ in 1998.
