Submitted by his Daughter
My dad had approximately eight years of service with the Garner Fire Department. He also volunteered as a young boy in New Port Richey‚ Florida where a plaque with his dad’s name hangs.
He owned his own car shop‚ German Performance Center. He sponsored several softball teams. He loved fishing and music. He would play guitar while my mom played the drums.
He is survived by daugthers‚ Erin Clark‚ 26 of Clayton NC‚ Melody Adams‚ 24 of New Port Richey Florida‚ (5) grandchildren and our late mother‚ Teresa Dougherty Fillie who died May 12‚ 2006 from cancer.
He stopped during one of our vacations to assist at an accident scene where a woman who was 8 months pregnant was hurt. He would help kids who fell off bikes. He always carried an EMT bag with him. Once a neighbor’s car ran her over and he picked it up to get her out.
He was the greatest dad. He loved his family‚ friends‚ his car shop and music. I love you always.
My friend a great man I think of you often In my 30 year career the worst night of my life. I wake up often thinking of you or what I could of done, God says nothing it was your time, Love ya pal Rest in peace your brothers from the Garner Fire Department
