Richard C. Bacon‚ 46‚ a 33-year volunteer with the Dunstable Fire Department‚ died on August 5‚ 1999‚ when he suffered a heart attack after returning from a fire. A local businessman‚ he was past president of the Dunstable Volunteer Firefighters Association and had served as the local civil defense director. Bacon’s father is chief of the Dunstable Fire Department.
