Roll of Honor

Firefighter
Age: 21
Year of Death: 1982

Scott L. Smith

Scott was the son of Duaine and Lavona Smith. He graduated Niwot High School in 1978. He is survived by his parents as well as two brothers, Philip and Bradley.

He was an avid sportsman; was a referee for high school baseball and city league softball and basketball games.

One of Scott’s aspirations was to become a firefighter. He succeeded in becoming a Boulder firefighter in October of 1981. Having served only three months, he had become a valuable asset quite readily.

In his memory the Boulder Regional Fire Training Center is dedicated to him and fellow firefighter Bill Duran for their dedication and service to the community. May he rest in peace knowing he fulfilled a life dream.
