Roll of Honor

Firefighter/Paramedic
Age: 57
Year of Death: 2018

Walter “Duffy” Burns Jr.

Duffy impacted many people with his wisdom, kindness, sense of humor, and giving heart. He dedicated his life to serving the Living God, providing for his family, and caring for those in his community. He was an honorable, fun, loving, and respected son, brother, and friend. Through gentleness and abounding love, he built his family and home on a strong foundation, Jesus Christ his rock. Duffy was committed to pointing people in his path towards this same personal and life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ.

Duffy served as a firefighter/paramedic at Snohomish County Fire District 1, assigned to Station 11, for 26 years. He retired in 2017, earlier than he desired, due to complications from his metastasized cancer. He was also a dedicated member at Pinehurst Baptist Church for over 25 years. Although we can rejoice that he is home with the Lord, he will be deeply missed on this side of heaven for years to come.
