William J. Duran Sr.

William was the son of Bonafacio and Rose Duran. Bill married Sharon Montoya on December 28, 1974. He was a veteran of the US Air Force, serving from 1970 until 1974 as a fire protection specialist.

He is survived by his father, his wife, two sons (William Jr. and Christopher) and daughter (Dedra), two brothers, Robert and Kenneth and three sisters, Veronica Grigeo, Juanita Razo and Susan Duran.

Bill completed his military commitment and joined the Boulder Fire Department in November 1974. During his tenure Bill was intent on bettering himself by attending Red Rocks Community College to attain a Fire Science Degree. Bill was promoted to the position of Fire Engineer in 1978.

In his memory the Boulder Regional Fire Training Center is dedicated to him and fellow firefighter Scott Smith for their dedication and service to the community. May he rest in peace knowing he fulfilled a life dream.
