Nicholas Schmidt

Captain Nicholas Schmidt, age 57, of the Chicago Fire Department died with four other firefighters in a building collapse during the Reliance Hotel on December 17, 1953. Captain  Schmidt was a 25-year veteran of the department; He became a member on January 26, 1928.

Robert R. Schaack

Firefighter Robert R. Schaack, age 37, of the Chicago Fire Department died with four other firefighters in a building collapse during the Reliance Hotel on December 17, 1953. He became a member of the Chicago Fire Department on May 10, 1948. Firefighter Schaack was also a World War II Veteran and was wounded in Okinawa.

George Malik

Acting Lieutenant George Malik, age 38, of the Chicago Fire Department died with four other firefighters in a building collapse during the Reliance Hotel on December 17, 1953. He became a member of the Chicago Fire Department on January 25, 1945.

Robert Jordan

Firefighter Robert Jordan, age 40, of the Chicago Fire Department died with four other firefighters in a building collapse during the Reliance Hotel on December 17, 1953. He became a member of the Chicago Fire Department on August 1, 1944.

John Jarose

Firefighter John Jarose, age 34, of the Chicago Fire Department died with four other firefighters in a building collapse during the Reliance Hotel on December 17, 1953. He became a member of the Chicago Fire Department on November 8, 1943.
