The Fallen and the Brave Honors America’s Fallen Heroes

Singer/songwriter Dave Carroll’s new music video, “The Fallen and the Brave” honors firefighters who died while protecting their communities. This video was shot at the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial in Emmitsburg, Maryland.

“Dave Carroll’s wonderful tribute will help the public understand the sacrifices made each day by the nation’s firefighters and their families,” said National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF) Executive Director Ron Siarnicki.

Hal Bruno

Remembering Hal Bruno

The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation honors and remembers Chairman Emeritus, Hal Bruno, who died at age 83, five-years-ago, on November 8, 2011. For more than 40 years, Hal Bruno served as an active member of the fire service, giving selflessly as a dedicated volunteer firefighter, advocate, commentator and leader. He is renowned for his commitment to fire safety initiatives and his compassion for the members of the fire service and their families.
 

Three Recognized with the Arthur J. Glatfelter Distinguished Service Award

The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation honored Gerard F. Scannell, Chief A. Marvin Gibbons and Hal Bruno with its Arthur J. Glatfelter Distinguished Service Award for their outstanding support of the NFFF’s mission.

National Stair Climb

Second Annual National Stair Climb Raises $150,000

For the second consecutive year, hundreds of people descended on Citi Field in Queens, New York to remember those firefighters who died in the line of duty. They came from 23 different states, numbered nearly 800, and when all was said and done, raised $150,000 to assist the surviving families and co-workers of fallen firefighters.

Coming to a Coffee Table Near You: American Firefighter

The Foundation has entered a contractual agreement with Rizzoli Publishing (NY) for a single coffee table style volume called American Firefighter.

The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation and its recently created affiliate, The First Responder Center of Excellence for reducing Occupational Illness, Injuries and deaths, both 501(c)(3) non-profits with offices in Emmitsburg and Crofton, MD are currently accepting letters of interest and resumes for multiple positions.
