Frank T. Skusevich Sr. was a loyal and dedicated firefighter for the City of Lawrence, Massachusetts. He suffered head injuries after he slipped off the unenclosed jump seat of the fire apparatus and later retired. Frank died from his injuries on December 13,1983.

James M. Gibbons was a 6 year veteran of the department assigned to Engine 37. While performing fire suppression operations‚ upper floors above collapsed trapping and fatally injuring Gibbons and Lieutenant Paul M. Lentini. Four other firefighters were trapped along with them and numerous other firefighters were injured.
