John O. H. Tvedten‚ 47‚ a 26-year veteran Battalion Chief with the Kansas City Fire Department‚ died on December 18‚ 1999‚ during operations at a warehouse fire. A leader in the department‚ he served as Chairman of the Fire Fighters’ Pension System and had received two Distinguished Service Awards. He held a master’s degree in Public Administration from Harvard University.
