Michael D. McComb‚ 48‚ died on March 23‚ 1998‚ in a helicopter crash while transporting a patient to a hospital in Los Angeles. Two other Los Angeles City firefighters perished in the crash. McComb‚ an avid pilot‚ was only 6 months away from retirement.
