The 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb is not a timed race event, but a way to remember the FDNY firefighters who died on 9/11/2001. This event benefits the FDNY CSU and the programs provided by the NFFF to support the families of our nation’s fallen firefighters.

- Challenges of the Modern Fire Environment
- During the past several decades, the fire service has experienced critical changes that have significantly altered the fireground. This has had a profound impact on the fire environment and our tactics and strategies. It has also led to an increase in occupational illness for firefighters, which has similarly impacted how we operate. Combining research with real-world operational and leadership experience, this class will offer best practices while discussing the interrelationship between fire dynamics and the increase in occupational illness. Firefighters will gain a greater understanding of the concerns of occupational exposure as well as learn the key fire dynamics concepts to maintain an aggressive and safe mindset for fire attack and search and rescue.

- Whelen has collaborated with RCR and the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF) to memorialize the fallen firefighters on the 2024 Roll of Honor with a special paint scheme on the No. 2 Whelen Chevrolet. Join us for the unveiling in Booth 3223, hosted by NFFF’s Victor Stagnaro, Whelen leadership, and No. 2 driver Jesse Love!

- Join us at the Capitol Avenue entrance to hear CEO Victor Stagnaro discuss the mission of the NFFF and ways fire departments can honor and remember fallen firefighters during the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend. He will discuss the NFFF's fundraising events that are taking place during FDIC and encourage people to visit the Whelen booth to view the NASCAR Whelen #2 car, which showcases the names of the fallen firefighters being memorialized this year; and invite all attendees to visit the NFFF booth.
