Jack is pursuing a career as a firefighter with the FDNY, inspired by his late father’s legacy. He is currently studying Fire Science at Eastern Kentucky University, with the long-term goal of earning both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in the field. The NFFF Scholarship has been instrumental in supporting his education, allowing him to concentrate on academics and participate in extracurricular activities, including his role as PIO for the American Society of Fire Technicians.
Outside of school, Jack devotes his time to serving others. His involvement spans multiple emergency service organizations. He earned his EMT certification at 17 and continues to contribute to emergency services and training efforts. Jack also honors his father’s legacy through his work with The FDNY Firefighter John F. McNamara Foundation and as an Honorary Director of The FealGood Foundation, advocating for 9/11 responders and community support.
English teacher Meagan Miller says that Jack is a hands-on learner who understands best when content is related to problem solving real-world situations. She says that Jack can remain calm, professional, and quick-witted under the most stressful circumstances. Chief of Operations Zibrim Banse says Jack shows a level of dedication to serving his community that is unmatched by his peers. He describes Jack as enthusiastic, independent, and a team player.
