Dr. Harry CarterThe National Fallen Firefighters Foundation extends our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Dr. Harry Carter, Ph.D., FIFireE, CFO. Please join us as we mourn the loss of our friend, who died last night. Dr. Carter was instrumental in his contributions to the fire service as an internationally-known municipal fire protection consultant, author, writer, and lecturer.

He was a contributing editor for Firehouse® Magazine since 1990, with articles about leadership, operations, and training. Dr. Carter authored and co-authored 14 textbooks and wrote over 2,500 articles for fire service trade journals and websites. He advocated for the NFFF’s Everyone Goes Home® Program and the 16 Firefighter Life Safety Initiatives throughout his career. “Dr. Carter’s legacy will continue to impact the fire service and fire life safety for future generations,” said Chief Ronald Siarnicki, Executive Director of the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. Rest in peace, Dr. Harry Carter. Thank you for all that you have done.
