The final episode of Season 2 of the Grief in Progress podcast tells the story of Dawn and Mike Carroll, who found love and healing through their shared experience. Dawn and Mike navigated their own grief journeys when their partners died. Amidst their individual losses, they met each other at a National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF) event—and formed a deep connection  that offered glimmers of hope in their darkest moments. Dawn and Mike discovered that happiness could be found once more.

Dawn and Mike’s story is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and the transformative power of love. Love after loss is not only possible—but can be a beacon for those who have suffered unimaginable heartbreak.

Jon was a big man with an even bigger heart. He was an angel on earth. Jon was caring and protective. He was a firefighter’s firefighter - the most highly decorated firefighter in the state of New Jersey.
