Senator Paul Sarbanes Scholarship

Scholarship Recipient

Katlin Brown

Major: Sociology
Academic Scholarship Years:
Daughter of
Katlin Brown

Katlin is less than a semester from completing her bachelor’s degree in Educational Studies and is going to continue her graduate studies at Kansas State University. She will pursue her M.A. in Sociology. Upon completion of her M.A., Katlin dreams of working as a Professor of Sociology.

While Katlin places a high value on involvement in community and service to others, she has scaled back her extracurricular activities to focus on her academic studies and maintaining a high GPA. She continues to serve in her education honor society, Kappa Delta Pi and is serving an internship where she meets with students and serves as an academic coach through K-State’s Academic Achievement Center.

Katlin is not one to back down from challenges, academic or personal. She demonstrates this academically and in all that she does. After her mother’s passing in 2018, Kaitlin attempts to make frequent trips back home to help her younger brother and grandmother. Katlin’s charisma, high academic achievements, thoughtfulness, and her positive attitude, makes Katlin a great scholarship candidate.

Katlin’s previous scholarships were made possible with support from
Motorola Solutions Foundation and ICMA-RC.
