Stephen A. Schwartz

Stephen A. Schwartz

Steve Schwartz is President, Chief Executive Office and co-owner with his brother Andy of Lion Group Inc., a leader in its three business sectors: first responder personal protective equipment (PPE) and uniforms, first responder fire training equipment and training centers, as well as first responder clothing and equipment lifecycle management.

Steve earned progressively greater responsibility as a 4th generation member of his family’s business, where he started his career in 1989 and become CEO in 2006. Steve has led the company’s development of innovative products and services that have “changed the playing field” and has led the expansion of the company into international markets, created five joint ventures, completed eight acquisitions, and managed three divestitures.

As a result of his commitment to innovation as a core competency, LION has a large and growing portfolio of design and material application patents related to PPE, uniforms, and first responder training products, and has developed software applications and data platforms that enable a better customer experience.

Before joining Lion, Steve served as a co-founder and Vice President of a New York City based LAN and personal computer consulting startup.

Steve graduated in 1984 with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Swarthmore College and received his MBA from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management in 1989.

He is a past board member and President of Contemporary Dance Theater of Cincinnati, of the Cincinnati Country Day School, his alma mater. He is a past board president of GESA, Global Emergency Action Network, a non-profit devoted to advocating for the development of a stronger first responder infrastructure in developing countries, and of May We Help, an organization that develops one of a kind products for disabled people of all ages so they can live their lives more independently.

Steve lives in Cincinnati, Ohio with his partner Felice Marcus. Together, they enjoy their four adult children: Olivia 27, Sam, 24, Jemma, 27 and Sam, 21.
