National Fallen Firefighters Foundation

Raising Awareness

Join us in creating awareness for the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, an organization dedicated to honoring America’s fallen fire heroes; supporting their families, colleagues, and organizations; and working to reduce preventable firefighter death and injury. By fostering awareness of the NFFF, you can play a part in ensuring that the sacrifice of our fire heroes and their families are never forgotten and that we continue to create a safer future for those on the front lines.

Spread the Word About Partner Programs

National Fallen Firefighters Foundation has partnered with Kidneys for Communities to support the first responder community and to shed light on the need for kidney donation within our community.  Kidneys for First Responders™ raises awareness of kidney disease, promote stories of kidney patients and the need for organ donation to save lives within the first responder community.

Kidneys for Communities has created this new pathway for living donors to actually play a role in who receives their kidney. Community-Directed Donation™ empowers potential donors to personalize their life-saving gift by directing their kidney donation to a specific “community” they want to support—including first responders, religious affiliations, fraternities and sororities, unions, alumni groups and more. This single, altruistic act can start a paired kidney chain that saves dozens of lives.

The National Firefighter Registry (NFR) is open to all firefighters in the United States. The NFR is an effort led by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) to study the risk of developing cancer among firefighters. The information collected through the NFR will allow researchers to better understand the connection between firefighter exposure to dangerous toxins and cancer development. The NFR is for all firefighters – career or volunteer, active or retired, with or without cancer, rookies or firefighters with experience. It takes about 30 minutes to register, and the information collected is confidential.

Invite a NFFF Speaker to Your Event/Program

The NFFF receives many requests throughout the year for speakers at local, state and national events. In view of this, the Foundation has established a Speakers Bureau of Fire Hero Families to help fulfill some of these requests. Foundation staff and our Fire Hero Families consider it an honor to be asked to speak at your event/program.

Help Us Raise Awareness by Volunteering
