New Title, New Horizons (WUI)

This is a two-day event is designed to directly engage firefighters of varying backgrounds. The goal is to convene firefighters ahead of their interaction in the wildland urban interface (WUI) and thus make their contact less a collision and more a connection with the goal to reduce LODD/accident/injury by orienting these “new” firefighters (federal) to the world that “other” firefighters have. Orientation to the role of USFA, DHS, the NFPA standards process, and ideas which would help them navigate the world of “firefighter.” The course will showcase Everyone Goes Home^® tools available through National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, including Taking Care of Our Own^® and the Local Assistance State Team.
