Men Forging Ahead

Men Forging Ahead
MFA is open to husbands, life partners, fathers, stepfathers, sons, stepsons, brothers, stepbrothers, father-in-laws, son-in-laws, and brother-in-laws of fallen firefighters honored or approved to be honored at the National Memorial in Emmitsburg, Maryland. All eligible adult men are encouraged to participate!

Men Forging Ahead (MFA) is a casual, “for men only” (ages 18 and up) monthly peer support group. MFA meets on the 4th Saturday of each month at 3:00pm ET via Zoom.

Founded in November 2020, MFA offers a welcoming place where the men in our Fire Hero Family can express themselves without judgment – and forge lasting friendships and connections with other Fire Hero men who have experienced a similar loss.

  • Some months we have open discussion amongst ourselves; other times we have a featured guest speaker.
  • Whatever the topic, the group is always welcoming and supportive of all who join in—regardless of how recently or long ago the loss of their firefighter occurred and how much (or little) they may wish to talk.
