Crew Member Benjamin O. Dinnel, age 26, of the New Tribes Mission died on July 9, 1953 while fighting the Rattlesnake Fire in the Powder House Canyon at Mendocino National Forest.
Benjamin was an Electrician’s Mate 3rd Class in the U.S. Naval Reserves during World War II.
